The storm continues...
Just 3 days after receiving 20cms of snow (which is normally unheard of in this area) we received another dump of about 15cm lastnight. And along with that our power went out about 10pm. Its not until the power actually goes out that you realize whether or not you are prepared for it. We had tons of matches but only 3 little tea-light candles to light. We had no working batteries to put in our clock radio but we did come up with the bright idea to plug it into our computer's battery back-up. So at bedtime we pulled out the extra blankets and I dragged poor little sleeping Rebekah out of her crib and into bed with me. Our apartment is not built for cold winters and gets cold enough when the power is on. I figured she's be pretty cold within an hour so I popped her into bed with me. I'm glad to say that she slept well and was warm but I sure didn't. With all the kicking and rolling over and hands in my face, it was all I could do to get a wink of sleep. The power came on around 2 or 3am but the furnace didn't kick in and I was too lazy to get up, so we snuggled under the covers keeping our noses underneath. The weather is supposed to be nice for the next few days and so all this snow should be melting pretty soon. So I've had all my major winter-related experiences in the span of a few days. So I'm ready for the warm temps and rain again. Did I really say that????
